Daniel C. Oakes High School runs on a year-round schedule, which means it is on a different schedule than the majority of schools within Douglas County School District. We run a 9-week quarter, followed by a 3-week break before the next 9-week quarter begins.
- The first quarter begins in July, and ends in September.
- Second quarter begins late September/early October, and ends in December.
- Third quarter begins in January, and ends in March.
- Fourth quarter begins in late March/early April, and ends in late May.
Students and staff have the full month of June off for summer vacation.
SAC Meetings
Our School Accountability Committee (SAC) serves as an accountability and advisory group for D.C. Oakes High School. It is comprised of parents, students, staff members, and other community members. Please consider joining us, all meetings are held at 8:00 AM via Google Meet:

Parent-Teacher Visits & Conferences
Teacher Visits are an opportunity for parents to get to know our teachers and put faces to names! Parents/guardians of new students are encouraged to attend, however we always enjoy the time to see and speak with veteran parents and guardians as well. We hope to see you on the following dates:
- August 7, 2025 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
- April 23, 2026 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Parent-Teacher Conferences are hosted at the school on the following evenings for parents/guardians and teachers to discuss both successes and/or concerns regarding students.
- October 23, 2025- 4:00pm to 5:00pm
- January 29, 2026 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm
